Remember that word wall posters are not just for display. After introducing and posting them incorporate classroom activities that encourage students to refer to these posters! It’s like having a dictionary on the wall.

For example, a teacher might make the sound of “stormy” and ask the class what they hear. Students can refer to the posters to jog their memories. For kids who still can’t pronounce the word, they can walk up to the poster and point to it, after which the teacher can help them with pronunciation.
