Requirements: One computer for each child. They need to be able to navigate the menu system using the below season vocabulary words.
Word Set: seasons, coloring pages, fall, winter, spring, summer
Kidopo has a nice collection of coloring activities that can be used to help reinforce the seasons.
Suggested teaching activities:
- Before sitting down with the computers ask the ESL children what coloring pictures they think they might find for each season. Make a game out of it and reward students that guess correctly. After their computer time, come back to the list and compare what they guessed with what they actually found.
- Make a large graphic organizer that lists several of the season pictures. Keep the organizer in the classroom so that it can be referred to in later lessons and review sessions. This organizer can be used to encourage writing.
- Print out these pages and have the kids write words or short paragraphs to describe the season picture.
