Requirements: This post requires that you have a classroom computer. Some type of projection system, large screen TV, or interactive white board would be ideal.
Word Set: flowers, bird, apples, flamingos, teddy bears, cows, dogs, cats, bunnies, balls, eggs, pencils, butterflies, doughnuts, cookies, penguins, light bulb, goldfish, sailboats, CDs, colored pencils.
Wikijunior over at Wikibooks has given us another internet book that can be used for several ESL reading activities.
This book doesn’t come with a video, making it similar to a big book.
Suggested ESL activities:
- Before reading the book together, introduce or review the above mentioned word set. After writing the vocabulary set onto the white board begin to read the book. Have the kids guess which vocabulary item will come next. Cross off or erase each item from the board as the book is read.
- Go through the book a second time, but see if they can remember what vocabulary items were used for each page.
- Follow the reading by using the below printable book.
